Police have arrested eight suspected terrorists, of which seven were teenagers, at two locations in Sukoharjo dan Klaten, Central Java.
National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Anton Bahrul Alam said the seven suspects were between 18 and 19-years-old.
"They are still teenagers. Some of them just graduated from junior high school," Anton said at a press conference at the National Police headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He said the suspect Atok, alias Roki Apresdianto, was allegedly helped by suspects Agung, Joko, Nugroho, Argo, Tri Budi, Sigit Purnomo, and Yudi Anggoro in making bombs.
"Of all the suspects, the oldest is Atok, who is 28-years-old," Anton said.
Police also confiscated several explosive materials such as detonators, cables, black powder, and potassium chlorate.
According to Anton, the suspects were responsible for preparing explosives in several bomb threats during December 2010 and January 2011.
