A factory in Temaji village, Tuban, East Java, was razed by a fire after a generator exploded on Thursday.
The factory’s owner, PT Bumi Daya Indonesia, stands to suffer losses in the billions of rupiah after the 6 a.m. fire, kompas.com reported.
Four firefighting units rushed to the scene, taking more than three hours to extinguish the flames.
Employees of the factory helped out by tearing down part of a wall to assist the firemen.
Some factory employees reported hearing three explosions right before the building caught fire.
