Waste management solutions proposed

TANGERANG: The South Tangerang administration announced proposals to deal with its protracted waste management problems.

“We hope [the three proposals] can solve the waste problem,” acting South Tangerang mayor Hidayat Djohari was quoted as saying by Antara news agency on Thursday.

He said one of the proposals was to begin the waste treatment process at the points of origin, such as at traditional markets, residential areas and temporary dump sites.

Hidayat added that the ongoing Cipeucang dump site project was expected to be ready soon and that it would also increase the number of garbage trucks while setting up a waste treatment plant. — JP
