Okto to remain with national team for pre-Olympics: Coach

National soccer team coach Alfred Rield said Sunday winger Oktovianus Maniani would remain with the national team pending explanation over his recent decision to leave the training center to play for his club Sriwijaya FC.

“He is not out, but we need to know Okto’s reasons and his situation. He still has a chance, but I need an explanation,” Rield said, as quoted by kompas.com on Sunday.
Riedl has said all players on the national team were banned from playing for their respective clubs during the training period.

However, there were varying accounts about Okto’s situation, he said.

Okto reportedly left the training center on Thursday to play for Sriwijaya FC in a match against Persipura Jayapura on Sunday.
