AKARTA: Mieke Amalia has decided to give up acting until she gets pregnant.
The 33-year old artist has cancelled all her shooting schedules.
“I’ve stopped all my activities and my shootings. I want to get pregnant this year,” the mother of two said as quoted by detikhot.com on Sunday.
The actress had a miscarriage shortly after her second marriage with actor Tora Sudiro in December 2009.
Because of this incident, Mieke decided to put her career on the backburner so she could focus on getting pregnant.
Meanwhile, Tora says he doesn’t want to interfere with Mieke’s activities but believes his wife should probably stop working to increase her chances of falling pregnant.
“It is impossible for her to fall pregnant if she’s still working from dusk till dawn,” said Tora.
Mieke has also been following fertility therapy and consultation programs. — JP
