Three mini trucks on board a pontoon tug boat that sank in Rupat waters of Dumai, Riau, are yet to be removed, police said Tuesday.

Rupat Police chief Adj. Com. Syahruddin Tanjung said that a lack of adequate instruments had hampered the evacuation of the trucks and a driver who was killed in the accident, Antara reported.

Syahruddin said that the SAR team had located the three trucks and the body of Uli Situmorang. He said the team used fishing nets to locate the victim and they dived without needing to use oxygen.

A crew member of the pontoon tug boat, Tarsan, said that the boat was on its way from Dumai to Rupat Island when high waves and storms hit the boat on Monday morning at about 1 a.m.

The boat rolled causing the three trucks, loaded with sand and cement belonging to PT Marita Makmur Jaya, to fall into the water.

Uli was sleeping in a truck at the time of the accident.
