Russia detains suspects in deadly airport blast

Russia's top security official says several people with information on last month's suicide bombing of Moscow's biggest airport have been detained.

The head of Russia's Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, said in televised comments Thursday that those detained have knowledge on the accomplices and logistics of the blast. He said "we have an idea who the organizer of the act of terrorism is."

The Jan. 24 attack in the international arrivals hall of Domodedovo Airport killed 36 and wounded around 180 people.

Investigators have said the suicide bomber was a 20-year-old man from the volatile Caucasus region in the south, suggesting Islamist terrorist cells known to operate there planned the attack. There has been no claim of responsibility.
