span class="inline inline-center">ReutersFans of Janet Jackson will get the chance to get up close and personal with the pop diva next Wednesday as she braces to visit Jakarta on her World Tour.

Jackson, who has sold more than 100 million album copies around the world, will spoil her fans with 35 hit songs during her concert “Janet Jackson Number Ones — Up Close and Personal”.

Three event promoters, Berlian Entertainment, Trilogy Live, and Mahkota Promotion, are collaborating in bringing Janet to Jakarta.

“This will be quite a spectacular event — Janet Jackson performing at Plenary Hall, Senayan,” Berlian Entertainment director Marcell Permadhi said Tuesday.

“We hope that this will be the biggest event of the year,” Willy Hidayat from Trilogy Live said.

Janet Jackson, who entered the Billboard list of Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists in 2008, will be performing at Jakarta Convention Center Plenary Hall, bringing 15 dancers. “She will stun the audience,” Marcel said.

Willy said that the stage arrangement would be very special. “It will have unique multimedia technology. The stage set has a different characteristic from ordinary stages,” he said.

Some 11 tons of equipment will be shipped to Indonesia, he said.

“It will be grand, while keeping a close and intimate feel with the audience,” he added.

Willy said that they were helped by Janet Jackson’s fans, who open her website and asked her to come to Indonesia. “Janet World Tour’s agenda is Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Europe. We were helped by Janet’s fans in Indonesia, which were many. They sent their requests through her website and eventually Janet decided to come to Indonesia,” Willy said.

Jackson will sing All Night (Don’t Stop), her hit from 2004 album Damita Jo — just one of the 35 hits she will perform in Jakarta. The song line-up will include Nasty, Rhythm Nation, That’s The Way Love Goes, Together Again, Runaway, to All for You.

The promoters target to sell around 4,000 tickets. Prices will range from Rp 900,000 for Tribune seats to Rp 5 million (US$556) for Platinum seated numbers.

The promoters have sponsors such as Bank Central Asia, which offers a buy-one-get-one-free for BCA Credit Card Holders. Telkomsel customers can get a 20 percent discount by showing the Telkomsel sign on their cellular phone when buying tickets.

Tickets are available at tickets boxes Raja Karcis, Aquarius Mahakam and Ibu Dibyo. Tickets are also available at the Berlian Entertainment office.
