At least 2,276 companies from 98 countries have expressed commitments to participate in the upcoming International Furniture and Craft Fair Indonesia, scheduled to be held in Jakarta from March 11 to 14.
“We’ve received a good response from potential participants. We even have 70 companies from the troubled Egypt,” Indonesian Association of Furniture and Craft chairman Ambar Tjahyono said Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
The fair organizers have targetted to netting more than 3,500 companies from 115 countries.
Ambar said the exhibition was being held in Jakarta to capture serious buyers.
“If we held the expo overseas, most potential buyers would just window-shop. No more than 20 percent of them end up making a real purchase,” he said.
