PLN to offer Rp 3t procurement tender

State-owned electricity company PT PLN says it will offer
Rp 3 trillion (US$322.5 million) for procurement tender for distribution
networks in Java and Bali this year.
Head of Java and Bali distribution for PLN, Purnomo Willy,
said the amount was higher than last year’s Rp 2.5 trillion, tempointeraktif.com reported.
Purnomo said Thursday that the tender would involve the procurement of 3,000
meters of medium voltage cables, 9,000 meters of low voltage cables, 7,000 units
of distribution substations and meters.
The procurement is expected to be completed by the end of
the year.
He said with the new equipment, PLN would be able to
increase its supply by 2,500 megawatts and serve 1.3 million new customers.
Java and Bali’s current power consumption is 17,890 megawatts during the day
and 18,270 megawatts during peak periods.
As for Jakarta, power consumption at night was 4,900 megawatts
and 5,500 megawatts during the day, he said.
