RI to ban export of raw fish

Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Fadel Muhammad said Monday that the government would ban the export of raw fish.

He said fish must be processed before it was exported in order for the country to enjoy the added value, tempointeraktif.com reported.

“We will draft the regulation,” he said during the inauguration of new officials in his ministry in Jakarta.

He did not elaborate on when the regulation would take effect.
