Railway firm says no to football hooligans

State railway firm PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) said it would refuse to take football supporters using its service to ferry them to matches in other cities amid frequent reports of vandalism from its trains.

In a statement quoted by tribunnews.com, KAI said the new policy would be implemented across the country.

The company said every time it carried the supporters it suffered losses incurred through vandalism. Many of the supporters also did not buy train tickets.

PT KAI has informed the National Sports Council (KONI) and the Indonesia Soccer Association (PSSI) of the policy.
