The Jakarta Police would deploy 1,500 officers to secure a rally scheduled to be held by the Islamic Defender’s Front (FPI) at the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta on Friday at noon.

Jakarta Police Spokesperson Sr. Comr. Baharudin Djafar said that the officers would be deployed from the Jakarta Police, the Central Jakarta Police and the South Jakarta Police.

“We will be standing by the area from morning,” he said Thursday, as quoted by city news portal beritajakarta.com.

Baharudin predicted that around 700 people would participate in the rally.
