Police have arrested 14 members of the Muslim Student’s Association (HMI) who staged a demonstration on Monday in front of Bogor Presidential Palace on Jl. Juanda in Bogor.

The students of the Bogor chapter of HMI were arrested and taken to Bogor Police headquarters, because they did not have any permit to stage the protest, Adj.Com. Arif Gunawan from Bogor Police said as quoted by kompas.com.

“By law, groups planning demonstrations should inform the police three days beforehand,” he said.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is currently convening a two-day meeting at Bogor Palace with Cabinet ministers, governors, regents and mayors from across Indonesia.
