JAKARTA: After a successful television breakthrough, top Indonesian national soccer team player Christian Gonzales says he is ready to star again on the small screen
AKARTA: After a successful television breakthrough, top Indonesian national soccer team player Christian Gonzales says he is ready to star again on the small screen.
The native-born Uruguayian said he enjoyed his time on set.
“If there is another offer, I will be ready to act,” said Gonzales, who recently starred in the local comedy show Islam KTP, which translates roughly as Muslim in Name Only.
The 34-year-old’s participation would come with several conditions, said Gonzales’ wife, Eva.
First, shooting cannot disrupt football practice.
“His main goal is to play football. As long as it doesn’t interrupt his match schedule, it will be okay,” said Eva, who accompanied Gonzales to an interview with inilah.com news portal this weekend.
Second, Gonzales cannot play characters that might jeopardize his reputation as one of the nation’s top soccer players.
Gonzales has been playing in the Indonesian Football League since 2003 and was the league’s most expensive player in 2006. — JP
