A hamlet in Denpasar has ordered the
head of a giant ogoh-ogoh monster doll resembling graft
convict Gayus Tambunan, a doll maker says.
Wayan Candra, who makes the traditional
ogoh-ogoh effigies, said on Tuesday that in the last two
months he had received orders to make more than 100 giant effigies,
the one that looks like Gayus, kompas.com reported.
Ogoh-ogoh, symbolizing evil
spirits, would be burned on the eve of the Hindu Day of Silence,
which falls on Saturday this year.
Wayan said that the Gayus look-a-like
head, which cost Rp 300,000 (US$33), was ordered by the Penyobekan
hamlet in Denpasar.
