President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono says he would speak about poverty and food security during a meeting at the Bogor Palace on Tuesday.
“It is important to hasten and extend [efforts] to reduce poverty. These [efforts] are no less important than investment,” the President said at the start of the meeting with Cabinet ministers and other government officials in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday morning, as reported by tempointeraktif.com.
The President said he would discuss the government's plans related to poverty reduction, to be implemented this year.
Yudhoyono also said he would go over steps that need to be taken to anticipate and deal with problems caused by fluctuating global foodstuff prices.
