This dance performance is based on the experience of the choreographer when he suffered from schizophrenia: What happened when he had assorted hallucinations. The piece illustrates that a person with schizophrenia is not a helpless being, and shows how society stigmatizes the disease as a curse. In reality, schizophrenia, from which anyone without exception can suffer, is a treatable disease.
Yudistira Syuman (born in 1968) completed his ballet studies at Sumber Cipta Ballet in 1985. He then continued to Folkwang Hochshule in Essen, Germany, where he studied classical ballet, modern dance and also European folk dance and flamenco. After graduating, he joined the Folkwang Tanz Studio Company and performed as well as collaborated with a number of artists in Europe. Now he teaches at the Sumber Cipta Ballet School and is a choreographer for Kreativität Dance Indonesia.

The Placed Promised in Our Early Days
This 90-minutes Japanese anime film takes place in an alternate postwar period in the late 1990s, when Japan was divided. Honshu and other southern islands are ruled by the US authority while Hokkaido is occupied by the "Union”. The Union built a tall tower in Hokkaido, which could even be seen from Tokyo. In the summer of 1996, three middle-school students –Sayuri Sawatari, Hiroki Fujisawa and Takuya Shirakawa – make a promise to one day fly to Hokkaido to visit the tower with a self-constructed plane. But their plan was abandoned when the girl, Sayuri, mysteriously disappears.
