President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono says he has formed a special team to protect Indonesians living in Libya.

He said he had appointed Coordinating Political, Justice and Human Rights Minister Djoko Suyanto to lead the special team to safeguard the 870 Indonesians currently in Libya, antaranews.com reported Thursday.

“The situation in Libya is more complicated than what we saw in Egypt. The tension and rate of violence there is higher compared to Egypt," Yudhoyono said in Jakarta on Thursday.

Yudhoyono also stated his concerns over the violence and asked for the United Nations Security Council to work to solve the problem as quickly as possible.
