City holds mass clean-up campaign

The Denpasar City Administration held a mass clean-up campaign Friday at every village and community as part of the celebration of Denpasar’s 19th anniversary.

“It comprises clean-up works at housing complexes carried out by the city’s officials and local communities, educational meetings on cleanliness at all traditional markets in the city and the launching of community-based garbage management projects,” Denpasar community empowerment board head Ketut Dunia said.

Each high-ranking city official is now also responsible for the cleanliness of a specific part or community in Denpasar, he added.

City officials provided garbage containers, helmets and shovels to several communities during the campaign. — JP
