A fisherman in Tebo, Jambi, was attacked by a crocodile Saturday on the Batanghari River.

Sopri,26, was fishing with his wife around 7 p.m. when the crocodile butted Sopri's boat, causing him to fall overboard.

Sopri was then bitten by the animal.

His wife Robiah used their boat to nudge the crocodile's head, prompting it to let Sopri go.

"After it let go it swam away immediately," Robiah said, as quoted by tribunnews.com. Sopri required stitches and is currently undergoing treatment at H Hanafie Public Hospital in Muara Bungo.
