Police release 11 arrested in attack on soccer manager's car

The Jakarta Police have released 11 people who were arrested in connection with the Friday attack on the national soccer team manager's car.

"The 11 who were questioned yesterday have been released because they were not directly connected to the attack on the car," Jakarta Police spokesperson Sr. Comr Baharudin Djafar said Sunday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Baharudin said questioning had revealed that a person named Echo was the leader of the attack.

"We learned from [those questioned] that the attackers were from Echo's group. The police are now looking for them," he said.

The attack, which occurred on Friday afternoon, severely damaged several parts of the car that Andi Darussalam Tabusalla was riding in.

Andi said he did not recognize any of the attackers.
