Thousands of tourists have been flocking to Kuta Beach, Bali, since Sunday morning, the day after Nyepi (Day of Silence) was celebrated throughout the island.
During Nyepi, residents are prohibited from going outdoors.
Kompas.com reported that tourists were also enjoying an impromptu market, the Pasar Majalangu, which is traditionally held after Nyepi.
The traditional village caretakers in Kuta even asked shops to remain closed in order to channel all trade activity to the market.
"Pasar Majalangu sells all kinds of Balinese accessories and traditional food," Kuta Beach Security Guard head Anak Agung Ngurah Tresna said.
