President thanks PKB in speech

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono praised the National Awakening Party (PKB) for its loyalty and consistency in supporting the coalition.

“The coalition is currently facing a thunderstorm but the PKB continues to support [the coalition] with a good sensibility,” Yudhoyono said at the party's national work meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The president added that the party not only provided criticism but also solutions, according to coalition rules.

“I extend my gratitude to it for sticking by me in carrying out the people's mandate and the political struggle,” he said as reported by tempointeraktif.com.

He further urged political parties in the coalition to operate according to the ethics agreed upon in criticizing the government.
