According to an official at the Labor and Transmigration Agency, Armansyah Gatot Subroto, the whereabouts and conditions of 16 Indonesian working aboard a ship and eight Indonesian nurses have yet to be confirmed.

“Their conditions are unknown at the moment,” he said, as reported by kompas.com.

He added that the agency is coordinating their efforts with the workers’ administrations and the Migrant Worker Protection and Placement Service Centers (BP3TKI) to locate them.

The 16 mariners are graduates of vocational high school SMK Temon Kulonprogo and are conducting their internships in Japan. They were facilitated by PT. Rumi

The agency has contacted their school, families and PT Rumi but has not yet received any information.
