Wika secures Rp 1t in contracts as of March

State construction firm PT Wijaya Karya (Wika) has secured new work contracts worth Rp 1 trillion (US$114 million) since the beginning of 2011, as of mid-March.
The new projects, both local and foreign, increase the publicly-listed firm’s portfolio to a total value of Rp 11.7 trillion.
Domestic projects include the construction of a toll road in East Kalimantan worth Rp 180 billion, a wharf in Dumai, Riau, worth Rp 131 billion, road access for an Asahan III coal-fired power plant worth Rp 92 billion and a bridge over the Lembak River in East Kalimantan worth Rp 59 billion.
Foreign projects include the construction of a diesel-fired power plant in Timor Leste worth $16.9 million, a road in Papua New Guinea worth Rp 11.3 billion and a drainage system and road in Algeria worth Rp 99.1 billion.
“For a new project overseas, we're currently bidding for a bridge construction project in Timor Leste,” Wika finance director Ganda Kusuma said on Wednesday in Jakarta, as quoted by kontan.co.id.
