The Jakarta Police bomb squad is preparing to perform a controlled explosion of a suspected bomb in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
“We have just arrived at the location. We have not [performed] a [bomb] disposal yet,” South Jakarta crime department head Comr. Budi Irawan said on Saturday.
He said the bomb squad had been dispatched to Jl. Samali Ujung in Pasar Minggu after they had received a report of a suspicious package in the area.
“The object is in the form of a package,” Budi said, as reported by tempointeraktif.com.
The South Jakarta police bomb squad arrived at the scene immediately after exploding a suspicious package on the Universitas Muhammadiyah campus in Ciputat. The package turned out not to have contained explosives.
