EKANBARU: Three universities in Riau have established a cooperation with Al Isra’ University in Amman, Jordan, in the field of language education.
The memorandum of understanding on the exchange of Indonesia and Arabic lecturers was signed in Pekanbaru last week, witnessed by Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan Zainul Bahar Noor and Riau Governor Rusli Zainal.
Zainul said the agreement had provided the chance for lecturers from Riau to open Indonesian courses in Jordan. “The program is expected to become a model for Indonesian language education in Jordan,” he said.
Al Isra’ University will send lecturers to Riau to teach Arabic. Amman, Zainul said, is known as a center for Arabic language and Al Isra’ has a good language curriculum. — JP
