Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said that 103 members of
his staff would undergo police questioning related to corruption cases
involving former tax officer, graft convict Gayus H. Tambunan.
“This year we will send 103 of our staffers at the tax
department to undergo questioning by the police,” the minister said on Friday,
adding that the 151 companies which had their taxes handled by Gayus were not
necessarily facing legal problems.
“This is important to take note of,” he said, as reported
by tempointeraktif.com.
He said that no legal action would be taken against the
tax officers if they have performed their duties in a professional manner.
“However, if conflicts of interest have arisen, then
action will be taken,” he said.
