FIFA rejects PSSI election methods

The world’s soccer body FIFA has rejected the Indonesian Soccer Association's (PSSI) methods for selecting PSSI election committee and appeal committee members. Those methods have been at the center of an ongoing dispute regarding the election of a new PSSI chair.

FIFA has criticized PSSI’s failure to comply with FIFA standard codes for selection processes in a letter addressed to PSSI secretariat manager Souraiya Farina, among others. A copy of the FIFA letter was obtained by tempointeraktif.com on Saturday.

“[FIFA codes] will considerably ease the regulation elaboration and result in better-quality output,” FIFA director of member associations and development Thierry Regenenass said in the letter, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The letter was dated March 25 and was cc-ed to several PSSI and FIFA executives.
