The police have arrested a man for allegedly sending a threatening letter to Yogyakarta Police chief Brig. Gen. Ondang Sutarsa, a police spokesman said.

According to National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam, the suspect, identified as initial N., was arrested on Tuesday.

“N. was arrested at his residence at around 9:00 p.m.,” he said on Wednesday as reported by tempointeraktif.com.

Ondang received the threatening letter on March 16. The letter was sent one day after four public figures received mail bombs.

Anton added that the police have strong evidence that N. sent the letter to Ondang.

“The police are still investigating whether N. has performed acts of terror at places besides the house of the Yogyakarta police chief,” he said.
