The attorney of Citibank embezzlement case suspect Inong Melinda aka Melinda Dee, said that his client had not caused the bank losses.
Melinda allegedly embezzled funds amounting to Rp 21 billion (US$2.3 million) during her term as Citibank's senior relationship manager.
“Melinda said there had not been an audit that points to her embezzlement of the bank's funds,” attorney Indra Sahnun Lubis said.
Indra and four other attorneys appointed by Melinda were at the National Police detective unit to discuss the case with their detained client.
Indra added that they did not have details on Melinda's modus operandi. However, Melinda told him that the bank was not at any loss.
“Those suffering losses are the bank's customers,” he said as reported by kompas.com.
