No one killed in Cilacap refinery fire: Pertamina
State oil firm PT Pertamina said the fire at its Cilacap refinery on Saturday morning affected only one of its tanks and did not disrupt the production of the entire refinery or cause any fatalities.
The T 31.02 tank that caught fire has a capacity of 10,487 kiloliters and contains high octane motor-gasoline component (HOMC) light oil. There are four tanks at the RU IV refinery complex in Cilacap, with total capacity of 61,300 kiloliters, Pertamina vice president for corporate communication Mochammad Harun said in a press statement sent to The Jakarta Post.
“We ask people not to panic because Pertamina is trying to tackle the fire until it cools down,” he added.
Harun also said that Pertamina was still investigating the cause of the fire and how much it might cost the company
