Bali governor says he has failed to improve Bali’s image

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika said Wednesday his administration had failed to improve Bali’s image, with foreign media reporting recently on Bali’s garbage and bad traffic.

“There was a failure from the Bali administration to create a better image of Bali as a convenient tourist destination,” he said, as quoted by Antara news agency.

He said his administration would not be prejudiced enough to consider that the report was part of efforts to discredit Bali.

Mangku Pastika said his administration had prepared a bylaw to help resolve the garbage problem on the island and will change people’s minds about throwing garbage anywhere they like.

The Bali administration will also try to build new roads to reduce traffic, he said.
