The police have concluded the questioning of a doctor, Christin, who allegedly hit an aide to former National Police chief detective Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji with her car in March.
Brig. Doni Rahmanto died after he was hit by a car when riding his motorcycle on Jl. DI Panjaitan in East Jakarta. His death raised questions as it occurred when Susno was facing corruption charges.
East Jakarta Police traffic chief Comr. Sudarsono said police had concluded their questioning of the suspect and several witnesses to the incident.
“The suspect was detained and her vehicle impounded,” he said.
Christin had rushed Doni to the Indonesian Christian University (UKI) Hospital in Cawang. However, doctors could not save him. It was later discovered that Christin had hit Doni.
Sudarsono added that the accident happened because Christin drove too close to the victim.
“We will hand the case files to prosecutors,” he was quoted as saying by news portal tribunnews.com.
Sudarsono added that Christin could be charged with reckless endangerment, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
