Bekasi Police unravel 67 drugs cases this year

Bekasi Police says it has unraveled 67 drug-related cases, and arrested 92 suspects involved in them, so far this year.

Among those suspects, 24 were alleged drug dealers, while the rest were users, Bekasi Police narcotics unit chief Comr. Sangadi said Monday.

Police had confiscated 70,063.9 grams of marijuana, 32 grams of heroin, 36.24 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 11 ecstasy pills.

The most significant bust had involved two drug trafficking networks and a total of 66 kilograms of marijuana.

"The case took place on Jl. Jatiwaringin Pondok Gede and Jl. Ahmad Yani in Bekasi on Jan. 26," Sangadi said.

"We arrested Indra Perdana, also known as Pilas, along with Firdaus, also known as Daus, and Umar Ali, in Jatiwaringin and confiscated 44 packages of marijuana, weighing a total of 40 kilograms," he said.

"While in Ahmad Yani, we arrested Yudi Putra Kurniawan and Agri Gunawan with 26 packages of marijuana, weighing 26 kilograms," he added.
