Arifinto apologizes to party, public

Proseperous Justice Party (PKS) lawmaker Arifinto who was allegedly photographed looking at pornographic content on his portable computer during a House plenary session on Friday, apologized on Tuesday to the party and the public for his behavior.

“I would like to make a special apology to the people of Indonesia. I also apologize to all the cadres in my party on the error I have committed,” he said Tuesday.

Arifinto was clearing out his office at the House of Representatives. He said he would submit his resignation letter to his party by Wednesday.

He also thanked people who had shown support for his decision to resign from his position as a legislator, and said he was ready to receive punishment from his party.

“I am even ready to be dismissed. That is among the consequence I must bear. I do not want everything to get ugly because of me,” he added, as reported by tribunnews.com.
