South Sumatra Public Works Agency says it is targeting to prepare seven venues for the 2011 SEA Games XXVI within four months.
Agency chief Rizal Abdullah said the list of tasks comprised only improvements to the surrounding environment and installing sports equipment.
“The work only involves improvements to the locations and installing a climbing wall for athletes, and that won’t take too long,” he said Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
The seven venues are for roller skating, wall climbing, water skiing, beach volleyball, pentaque, baseball and softball.
Up to Rp 50 billion (US$5.8 million) from the national budget has been allocated for the refurbishments.
The 2011 SEA Games is scheduled to be held in November in Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra.
