The Cirebon Police mosque lacked  security, said National Police spokesman Ins. Gen Anton Bachrul Alam.

“As it is a mosque, the security is not very tight. We must reevaluate [the security] of the mosque,” he said on Friday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

The suicide bomber reportedly stood near Cirebon Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Herukoco, a victim of the blast, during the Friday prayers.

“The bomber stood near the Cirebon Police chief. I have not been updated about his current condition,” he said.

The bomb exploded around 12:20 p.m. and injured dozens, most of whom were police officers. Some victims were rushed to the Bhayangkara hospital.
