Fire razes plastic factory in Tangerang

A fire engulfed the PT Andalan Dama Mulya plastic factory on Jl. Gatot Subroto, Kadujaya village, Curug district, Tangerang regency, on Friday afternoon.

Suratno, a security officer at the factory, said the fire started at around 12 p.m at a  factory machine.

“Workers used fire extinguishers but this attempt failed and the fire spread burning every plastic pile in the factory,” he said.

Andala, the local fire agency head, said the agency deployed five fire trucks and 36 firefighters to the location.   

He could not confirm whether workers had been injured, and the losses resulting from the incident. Firefighters were still working to control the fire at the time of writing.

“We are still struggling to extinguish the fire as of now,” he said.
