Police recapture Cipinang fugitive

Cipinang Penitentiary chief Edi Kurniadi said prison guards working in coordination with police had recaptured one of four fugitives who recently escaped from the prison.

The fugitive, Anang Saputra, was arrested at his uncle’s house in Cilacap, Central Java, on Monday, Edi said.

“We found out [he was in Cilacap] from his wife, who is now living in Brebes,” Edi said Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.

He acknowledged that it had not been easy to apprehend Edi, as he had fought with officers sent to capture him.

Edi added that officers were still pursuing the three other fugitives who had escaped with Anang.
