The House of Representatives is ready to increase funding for the police’s antiterror squad, to boost efforts to fight terrorism in the country.
“The House will fully support any plan to improve our strategy to eradicate terrorism in this country,” Tjahjo, a lawmaker from House Commission I on defense who is also secretary-general of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com on Saturday.
He said the police should enhance their coordination with intelligence agencies to improve their preventative abilities.
“These terrorists have crossed the line. Therefore, something has to be done to stop them once and for all,” he said.
