A 6.3-magnitude earthquake shook Java at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, but triggered no tsunami warnings.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said the quake’s epicenter was 24 kilometers deep and 120 kilometers offshore, southwest of the Central Java town of Cilacap.
In Jakarta, 319 kilometers away, a few people, most of whom were inside towers, reportedly felt the tremor, which lasted for about one minute.
