Palace welcomes Chinese PM Wen Jiabao

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled on Friday to welcome visiting Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao at the State Palace on Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara in Central Jakarta.

According to the presidential schedule obtained by The Jakarta Post on Friday, Premier Wen is expected to arrive at the palace at 3 p.m., where he will be met by the President and Cabinet ministers.

After the welcoming ceremony, delegates from Indonesia and China will attend a meeting, which is will be wrapped up with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

Later in the afternoon, Yudhoyono and Wen are expected to issue a joint press statement.

On Friday evening, both leaders are to attend a state banquet.

Premier Wen will be in Indonesia for three days.
