National Awakening Party (PKB) chairman Muhaimin Iskandar says his party will remain solid despite the presence of the newly registered Indonesia Nation Sovereignty Party led by the late Abdurrahman Wahid’s daughter Zanuba Arifah Chafsoh, popularly known as Yenny Wahid.
“The new party will cause zero effects on the PKB. Thus I have nothing to worry about right now. It is within every person's right to build themselves a political party,” Muhaimin, who also serves as the transmigration and manpower minister, said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com on Sunday.
Even though the PKB is still in the top ten largest political parties in the country, its rank has decreased significantly after PKB founder Abdurrahman Wahid left the party after a serious conflict with Muhaimin.
As well as her late father, Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur, the country’s fourth president, Yenny used to be a loyal PKB member.
