Car-Free Day postponed for ASEAN summit

Governor Fauzi Bowo says the local administration plans to postpone this week's Car-Free Day due to the ASEAN Summit that is scheduled to take place at the Jakarta Convention Centre from May 7 to 8. Fauzi added that the Car-Free Day would be held on the same day next week instead.
“We have learned that this will be a quite a busy day, getting participants from their accommodation to the meeting venue, therefore this week's Car-Free day is being canceled to allow them to use the road,” Fauzi said Tuesday as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
The local administration is also working with police to assist participants in finding suitable routes to the venue, he said.
