The Jakarta Police will disband a pro-marijuana parade planned by the Nationwide Marijuana Circle (LGN) on Saturday.

“We have not received an official request by organizers to conduct the parade,” Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Baharudin Djafar said Thursday.

Baharudin added that police would not issue permits for a mass rally on that day as the city was preparing to host the ASEAN Summit.

The LGN campaigns for the legalization of marijuana. It announced plans for a march by its members and supporters on Saturday from the National Monument park to the Tugu Tani monument to highlight its cause.
