RI students in Australia defend satirical video on House visit

Indonesian students in Australia on Thursday defended a satirical video they made about the House of Representatives Commission VIII visit to Australia, saying the video was a minor critique of the comparative study trip.

The video, posted on YouTube, shows that during a discussion with the students the commission members did not know their official email address.

Instead, one of the staff mentioned komisi8@yahoo.com as address, the validity of which was doubted.

The commission VIII legislators had visited the Australian parliament during the latter's recess period, and thus their costly visit missed its target, student representative Dirgayuza Setiawan said as quoted by MetroTV .

A blogger with The Jakarta Post public blog, IMO, also posted a story on Tuesday, stating that the House comparative study trip to Australia had been a waste of time.

He also attached copies and a summary of the discussion between the Indonesian students in Australia and the commission members.
