Tangerang administration says it plans to form a team to acquire land needed to build a third runway at Soekarno-Hatta Indternational Airport. The team will comprise officials from several government departments, including Tangerang Spatial Planning Agency.
“The team is currently being formed,” Tangerang regency secretary Hermansyah said Thursday.
He added that the team, called team nine, would decide which areas had to be cleared and the budget required to clear the land.
Tangerang administration plans to construct a third runway on a 1,000 hectare plot of land covering five villages in the subdistricts of Kosambi and Teluk Naga, tribunnews.com reported.
Hermansyah said 360 hectares of land in the villages of Rawa Rengas and Rawa Burung had been set for the initial clearance stages.
He added that the budget allocation for the third runway would be decided by state-owned airport management company PT Angkasa Pura II.
