W. Java Gov. to visit flood victims

West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan is slated to visit flood victims in three sub districts in South Garut on Sunday.
Governor Heryawan and his staff will use a rented airplane from the Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung and are scheduled to land at the Space and Shuttle Agency’s (LAPAN) airport in Garut.
A heavy flood crushed five sub districts in South Garut district: Cisompet, Pameungpeuk, Cibalong, Cikelet and Mekarmurti. So far, the local authorities record as many as 59 destroyed houses, 342 severely damaged houses and 1,532 other lightly affected houses.
Currently, nine people have been reported as dead, mostly from Cikelet, and dozens of other are hospitalized.
